Most of these photos were taken over a year, when I moved to Tehran in the summer of 2013 until September 2014. Initially, one of the positive ways I looked at my move was that I'd be able to travel and take photos. It's a place that is full of unexplored or less explored subjects of all kind.
Once you leave Tehran, people don't look at the camera in a defensive way (unless you're brandishing a huge camera at their face which in any case would be very intrusive). For example, Isfahan is more of a walkable city and there are often moments or encounters to capture. Living and working in Tehran, so much time gets spent in the car that it changes your way of interacting with people and thus portraying them.
